A recent tax change means Colombia’s online licensing regime now stands comparison with that of any other country in the world, according to the head of gaming agency Coljuegos.

December’s move to exempt online gambling from a national value-added tax (VAT) was a “very important” step toward the rollout of what is set to become Latin America’s first online licensing regime, said Juan B. Pérez Hidalgo, Coljuegos’ president.
